How To Start Achieving Our Goals

Many of us drift through life aimlessly and never seem to reach our most fundamental goals. We came into this world raw and wanting to thrive with big dreams. We have molded in our heads what we would wish to accomplish with our finances, relationships and spiritual maturity. But in reality, these hopes and dreams are most often than not elusive and out of reach. What are the reasons why we fail to accomplish what is most important? There are a lot of factors at play and contribute to our success and failure. Clarity. Motivational speakers and achievement experts say that having a clear goal starts the path to success. It has been said numerous times that the burning desire to accomplish something is what's keeping the person motivated in achieving his goals. Someone who wants it badly will continue to pave the way to success no matter what the odds are. So before working on your life and before picturing a bright future ahead, know that clarity on you want is the primal step to greatness. Otherwise, we'll end up working like a dog but never having the feeling of accomplishment. As Blaise Pascal, the great physicist and philospher, said; “Clarity of mind means clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what he loves.” People who are clear cut on what they want about their goals and objectives usually get the job done right and they do it faster too. As for those who think they have already accomplished much of their goals, it is always wise to evaluate what you have done so far and keep tabs on your progress. If you could work on something within the next six months, what would it be? Reach for a goal that is challenging. A fervent goal is always achievable and to a true believer, this goal would always benefit life. Like, don't lazily jot down that you want a million dollars within the next year. If your salary is not close to this amount, it is very unrealistic to hope to have this in the next few months. Not that you won't be a millionaire, but you must be wise enough to know that to end great, you must begin with a simple, attainable goal. You could perhaps set a goal to save an amount of money during the coming year. Assess your current activities and pinpoint what should be stopped, what should be kept, what should be increased. All of these should be in accordance to your goals. Or if you are overweight, you can choose to hit the gym or join a local sports team to lose a few pounds. Cut back on carbohydrates intake, ditch the daily latte’, walk an extra mile, or don’t use the elevator going to the office. These simple things could make a big difference in our path to our goals. What you can also do is make a list of your goals or what you want to achieve and then point out, with deliberation, what is most important. Divide this into small tasks and work on it every day. It’s also advisable to ask an expert or read up on how we could achieve our goals. A lot of people who have done it, as far as goal-reaching is concerned, are more than willing to share their stories of success. We could learn a lot from these people on what to do and what not to do. It is very hopeful to think that they are there to guide us to our map to greatness.
