How Can I Make a Family Tree if I Do Not Know My Ancestors Names?

I only know the names of my grandfather and grandmother on my mothers side and my great grand parents on my fathers side but I can not get any further, I have tried ancestry.com but they do not have any information. Can anyone help me figure out how to research this?

If you have exhausted your known family members, you can try and contact others with your same last name in the areas where you parents lived and see if they have any other pieces to the family puzzle.

Once you locate an additional family member, try and ask them to fill in some of the missing family tree information, once you find just a few of your ancestors, you will be amazed at what you can do with a free family tree search on sites like ancestry. I know if can be difficult to find family, but don't give up!

Look for Genealogy websites that allow you to research your family tree for free, some of these free genealogy websites even offer a family tree software or the ability to search past family records.

You can find your family history online, but is hard to start with a blank family tree, you need a little history of your roots, just do a search.
