How Can I Change My Son's Last Name?

I have a 3 year old son, his father is not longer around and my son really does not even know him. I was young and stupid when I had him and thought the father would be around, but that is not the case. The father signed the birth certificate and named him. I do not want my son to carry the last name of this man. How can I legally change his name?

Check in your local yellow pages for lawyers and they can assist you in a name change.

You can change your name legally at your county court house.
