The vast majority of women are unaware of the deadly inflammatory breast cancer. Since the terminal illness does not render any lumps nor pain, what remains unknown can be fatal. A stealth breast cancer may fly undetected by women sufferers. The merely silent assassin is referred to as inflammatory breast cancer or IBC.
Inflammatory breast cancer has the ability to metastasize throughout the body. It can spread to the liver, the brain and throughout the central nervous system. One of the main indicators of the deadly disease is how it morphs the appearance of breast. Unlike atypical breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer depicts physical changes. The cancer starts with an invasion of the skin. The cancer blocks the breast tissue vessels, gives a red hue to the breast, inverting the nipple. A breast can be twice the size of an opposite breast, feeling hard or swollen all over without any signs of a lump.
Several reports show that a woman's life could have been saved if only they had seen a doctor sooner. Unfortunately, the appearance of breast cancer is distinctive in each victim. Even in families where there is a history of breast cancer, IBC will appear different. Unlike breast cancer, IBC metastasizes rapidly. Moreover, there is generally a five-year survival rate of inflammatory breast cancer ranging between 30 to 40 percent, only. Regular mammograms, women wellness care and annual doctors visits are imperative for the detection on inflammatory breast cancer.
