It takes one cup of coffee to give a caffeine addict a morning lift. For most coffee lovers, starting a day without coffee is tantamount to beginning a day sans the mood to talk. But put a good cup of coffee in the hand of a habitual drinker, the mood will warm up. More than two cups of coffee can tweak up the central nervous system causing nervousness, anxiousness, jitteriness and other adverse events.

Unlike the effects of coffee, tea is by far more gentle on the system. Contingent upon the steeping time, a cup of tea has between 30 and 90 milligrams of caffeine. Sweet, carbonated beverages contain very little caffeine. For example, a can of diet soda has nearly 40 milligrams.

But there are alternatives to a cup of caffeinated java. Tea, espresso and cappuccino do not have as much caffeine as a regular cup of coffee. Experts deem other caffeinated beverages such as and cappuccino, espresso and tea better than coffee because they have less than 100 milligrams of caffeine.

Medical experts theorize that many people are unaware of how dependent upon caffeine they are. For instance, when daily coffee drinkers miss the first cup of the day, they may experience an annoying headache but feel better once the caffeine addiction is satiated.

Use these tips to break the caffeine addiction:

>> Try to go without drinking coffee on the weekend.
>> If you must drink caffeine, make it half a cup.
>> Try to transition tea as your coffee replacement to avoid the headaches associated with caffeine

As the human body ages, the central nervous system becomes hypersensitive to the caffeinated beverages such as coffee.
