For less than a dollar a bag, celery is an easy, affordable a piece of produce.
For starters, the vegetable is always in season year-round. Celery is so hearty that it possesses a good refrigerator life when it is stored correctly in a plastic bag. Not to mention, just two ribs of celery have merely 15 calories. Since celery is good for detoxifying the body, it helps dieter burn calories as it digests celery.

Amongst many culinary enthusiasts, celery is used as a seasoning. For instance, in Cajun and Creole cooking, celery salt is like the holy grail of spices. Traditional American cuisine use celery as an integral ingredient of poultry stuffing, soups, tuna and chicken salads and more. Some cooks enhance the flavor of chopped green salads with celery leaves; however, brown to wilted leaves are never recommended.

Try these favorite and distinctive celery snacks on for easier weight loss:

Instead of grabbing for a bag of potato chips, replace with a couple of stalks of celery.

Innovate a popular classic recipe presented by the historically acclaimed Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Cube celery and apples, mix with walnuts and add fat-free mayonnaise. To make the recipe your own, substitute the apple with other favorites: pears, star fruit, almonds, cashews or whatever.

Take a teaspoon of your favorite peanut but, slather on a piece of celery - voila, a childhood favorite good for fighting off the urge to splurge in your diet.

In a blender, combine and mix one-fourth cup of fat-free cream cheese, chives, and one-sixth-garlic clove, three drops of hot sauce. Inside the crevice of a stalk of celery, spread the topping.
