Think of it.
If boys absolutely love it when their wheels get to have its own bling-blings, whatever would prevent them from doing the same thing with their computers?
Maybe it’s out of boredom and a simple need for change and/or evolution but more and more computer enthusiasts discover a passion for upgrading and modifying their CPUs not only to make it run better but also look better!
If you want the same thing to happen with your computer, do read on to find out how.
The first step always requires you to base all your future decisions on the primary purpose that your computer would serve. You’ll know why later on. But for now, do decide whether you want your newer computer to be used for word processing only, for hardcore gaming or for heavy software programs like AUTOCAD or even video editing.
The next step to take is what casing you’ll be using for your new computer. In the past, you’ll only have two choices to choose from: the normal ATX casing and the micro ATX casing which is basically a smaller version of the former. But there’s a new kid in the block now, more compact, sleeker looking, more feature-packed and definitely more expensive: barebones. These computer casings come with their own motherboards already so at least that’s one worry off your shoulder.
Before you proceed with your choice, make sure that you have a general idea at least of what you want your new CPU to look like at the end. Just browse around the Internet for photos and samples if you find yourself a bit short on the creativity side.
The third step is to ensure that everything inside would look as beautiful as the outside. Besides making sure that the video card, motherboard, processor and hard disk work well together and that overall, it makes the computer run the way you imagined to be, you also have to make sure that the inside of the CPU is organized.
This simply means that all wires are bunched together neatly (it’s better if you can make them invisible or unnoticeable) and everything are at least color-coordinated. That means making sure even the fans match the overall look of your CPU.
Lastly, we come to the monitor, optical drives and other add-ons. It’s always good if you go for a DVD burner because it can do everything that a CD writer can do and more. For the monitor, it’s always better – even for the eyesight – to purchase an LCD monitor. And for other add-ons, just make sure that you have an adequate number of USB ports.
