Using Pesticides Without Killing Yourself

Humans in America have grown accustomed to not living with bugs. We do not want them in our homes and we do not want them on our foods, some say as humans we have been given the task to try to protect nature from harm.

Although most pests only harm plants slightly, they are still considered to be very irritating in the garden. This is because after all the care you have given to your plants, freeloading bugs will just eat them away.

When that happens its time to call on help from the pesticides. We may not want to use them but sometimes insecticides are needed. Insecticides are considered vaccines for your plants to control those pests.

When you go to shop for pesticides, you will be very confused as to what pesticide to use. The most important thing to remember is that the pesticide you choose kills the bugs, but does not kill you, your family and yes, even the neighbor's dog. Remember you are looking for a pesticide to kill bugs on your plants. Unless you consider yourself a pest to your plant, try not to kill yourself in the process.

Even though the pesticides are still low toxic, always remember to wear gloves as these pesticides can harm your skin when they are absorbed. Less is usually more when it comes to pesticides as over spraying can damage your plants, lawn and green thumbs in addition to polluting the environment.

Remember to choose a spot that has no blowing winds and plenty of ventilation. This helps keep the pesticide away from our eyes or unprotected areas of your body. The ventilation will also help from you getting suffocated from the stinky smells that can also cause allergic reactions.

When spraying a plant, always spray the bottom and the top of the leaves the most as there are lots of sneaky pest out there that are waiting to pounce back once the spraying is over. The young growing tips of the pants should be given the most care, because that is where most of this pests will reside.

To make sure that these pests won’t come back ever again, make sure you spray three times a day for 7-10 days, if not the eggs will still be there. Spraying your plants for 7-10 days will kills those eggs and even if they hatch they will immediately die.

Prepare pesticides that need to be mixed outdoors and never make more than you need for each job. Don't allow pets, children or food to be in the area in which you are mixing the pesticides. When you are ready to spray, read the label carefully and stick to the directions. Never eat or drink when spraying as the pesticides can contaminate your food and avoid smoking as many pesticides are highly flammable.

After you spray your plants or home, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and showering is recommended along with a change of clothes.

Hopefully by following these tips you will be able to enjoy a fresh garden, a bug free home and a long life.
