How to Find the Lowest Airfares

Finding a low airfare is easy if you know how and where to look, there are definately deals out there but most people just dont know how to search for them. Depending on where you search, you can save hundreds of dollars on a single ticket.

Start with online travel websites such as expedia, kayak or cheaptickets. These websites enable you to compare different airlines, days and times and sometimes will show you dates that are cheaper than others. Many people do not realize that the fare can vary greatly by arriving at different times in the same day or on different days of the week. Make sure to search several online travel websites as they do have different deals. Once you find the best days and times for the best price, visit that airlines website directly to see if the have a better price. Even if the airlines website has the same price, it is better to purchase the ticket directly from them in case you have any problems or need to reschedule your trip.

If you do find a good price on an airline ticket, it is usually best to buy the ticket right away because prices change every single day based on the price of gasoline futures. If the price of gasoline is high right now, you may want to wait to purchase your ticket if your trip is in the far future.
