Hoodia Ultra 2000 is another one of those hoodia products sold primarily on Amazon.com. Little information is available about the manufacturer, Life smart labs and it is unknown as to the products origin whether it be from the USA or from countries like China. This product seems to be exactly the same as another product, Super Hoodia 2000, made by the same manufacturer, just with a shiny label.
Hoodia Ultra 2000 claims to contain 1000mg of hoodia gordonii per tablet. As per Wikiipedia there is no published scientific evidence that hoodia works as an appetite suppressant in humans. Hoodia has recently been used in many weight loss supplements as an inexpensive alternative to more researched supplement ingredients such as Green Tea or Hydroxycitric Acid.
Alkemist Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Laboratories, Inc., Chromadex Labs and the University of Mississippi are known for testing the authenticity of products claiming to contain Hoodia Gordonii, so you should consult them about any validity of a product claiming to contain hoodia before purchasing it.
The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) created an industry standard for Hoodia authentication as a result of criticism by the FTC of the hoodia industry and complaints by consumers of fraudulent hoodia products being marketed.
Hoodia Ultra 2000 claims to contain 1000mg of hoodia gordonii per tablet, a bottle of super hoodia 2000 contains 60 tablets. If you have tried Hoodia Ultra 2000 and had any results, positive or negative, please let us know.
If you are convinced you need to try a hoodia product, you should look for a copy of CITES and USDA permit from a manufacturer of "Hoodia" products or a report from an independent testing lab to confirm the product actually contains Hoodia Gordonii as it is highly counterfitted. We were unable to find any certificates of authenticity or CITES import permits for Hoodia gordonii from the company Life smart labs, for Super Hoodia 2000 or Hoodia Ultra 2000, but they may exist.
Even in the absense of any scientific evidence on any effectiveness of hoodia, supplement companies are still marketing supplements containing hoodia with claims that hoodia can lower blood pressure and reduce appetite. TrimSpa marketed Hoodia Gordonii with their product called X32 made popular by now deceased Anna Nicole Smith, Trimspa is now in a lawsuit in california which claims that it does not contain any P37, the active ingredient in Hoodia and companies are also being sued by the state of NJ for misleading consumers. The entire country of Canada has not approved any hoodia products for sale.
